Introduction of the process of zinc alloy die casting during production

Despite the many advantages of the die-casting process, zinc alloy die-casting is still not perfect. Shenzhen Yuge Metal Products briefly talks about these problems today.

I. Constraints of die-casting alloys: Die-casting molds are constrained by the temperature of use. Because the melting point of some alloys is too high, the life of the die-casting die is too low, making the cost high and difficult to apply to actual production. . At present, the alloys used for die casting are mainly non-ferrous metals such as zinc alloys, aluminum alloys, magnesium alloys and copper alloys.

Second, the appearance of die-casting parts often has pores: the gas expansion in the pores at high temperature causes the appearance of the die-casting parts to bubble, which seriously affects the appearance of the die-casting parts and reduces the quality of all the zinc-alloy die-casting parts. Therefore, die castings are generally not heat treated and welded, and should not be operated at high temperatures.

Third, the constraints of the scale of die-casting parts: the dimensions of die-casting molds are constrained by the clamping force of die-casting machines and the dimensions of their die-casting. Therefore, the die-casting process is only suitable for the production of small and medium-sized castings, but not for large-scale castings. In the same way, with regard to the concave and concave die-casting parts, the die-casting production is also difficult because of the constraints of the die-casting mold and the principle.

In the existing casting method, the castings produced by the pressure casting method have the characteristics of high precision, smooth appearance, good mechanical performance and high yield. However, whether these characteristics can be exerted depends on whether the structure of the die-casting part is designed reasonably.

The die-casting parts with poor structural process not only bring various difficulties to the die-casting mold making and die-casting process, but also make it difficult to ensure the quality, so that the skill and economic effects of the die-casting method are difficult to display. In economics and skills, they often fail to achieve the expected results. Instead, they mistakenly believe that the die-casting method does not have the strengths it deserves.

Zinc alloy die-casting molds sometimes require processing operations during the manufacturing process to make the molds more compliant and the selection of mold materials.
